HUI, which synchronises DAW software and connected hardware devices, is now emulated by three virtual MIDI ports in the GS-R24’s new firmware, tunnelled over the mixer’s FireWire connection. This means that for GS-R24M mixers equipped with the FireWire interface, a third party translator is no longer essential.

A new set of DAW Resource Packs is also available online, with step-by-step instructions and template projects to aid the set-up of popular recording software.
To coincide with the release, Allen & Heath will be offering interactive webinars:
Thursday, July 26, 2012
We are pleased to offer two interactive webinars on GS-R24. Aimed at end users, studio engineers, dealers and distributors, the events will include a detailed discussion of the new firmware update with integrated HUI emulation for Pro Tools, Reaper and more.
The first part will provide information and understanding about the console, and a quick demonstration of Pro Tools setup with GS-R24.
In the second part we will run through available MIDI modes, update procedures, and hardware / software setup with different DAWs.
Also covered will be the new analogue interface with balanced I/O and industry standard DB25 connectors.
Representatives from R&D and Marketing will be available during the webinars to answer your questions.
There will be two sessions each to suit different time zones:
