GL3000 FAQs
Q: What's the difference between a GL3000
and a GL3300?
A: The GL3000 was a live mixer which was the
predecessor to the current GL3300. When GL3300
was launched in 1997 it replaced the GL3000.
The enhancements made to the GL3300 over the
GL3000 were:
- 18dB/octave low-cut filters instead of 12dB/octave
- Direct outputs on mono channels
- 4 mute groups
- Group Mutes
- More frame options
- Fader position adjusted
- Pre-fade/pre-EQ/post-mute option added
- Mute switch styling changed
- L/R jack inputs added to stereo channels
- Group 1-4 inserts
- Extra 6dB boost on aux and matrix outputs
- 8 Group outputs option on D connector
- Fader type changed to D-law slimline
- L/R meters changed to GL4000 type
- Knob colours made the same as the GL4000
- New mic pre-amp for improved performance
- Overall graphics revised.
Other than the above, the mixers are very
similar. The GL3000 and early GL3300s both
had removable meterbridges, but now the GL3300
mixers have a fixed meterbridge on all versions
except the 16-channel version, which does
not have a meterbridge. |
