Cleaning
your console
When cleaning the console avoid the use of chemicals,
abrasives or solvents. The control panel is best
cleaned with a soft brush and dry lint-free cloth.
Stubborn marks can be removed using a cloth dampened
with isopropyl alcohol. We would advise against
leaving marking tape stuck to the console for
long periods of time as the adhesive can degrade
and leave a sticky residue. The faders, switches
and potentiometers are lubricated for life. The
use of electrical lubricants on these parts is
not recommended. Refer to the power unit user
guide for instructions on cleaning its ventilation
filters.
If cleaning products are used, Allen & Heath
suggests the following:
- For cleaning faders and potentiometers: DeoxIT Fader Lube (formerly CaiLube MCL)
- For cleaning switches and contacts: DeoxIT and ProGold.
- Detailed directions and applicator recommendations for maintaining faders, switches and contacts can be found here.
Both products are manufactured
by Caig Laboratories - www.caig.com
We would warn against using generic "switch-cleaning" products on faders and potentiometers as this can have a negative effect on the carbon track.
