JOB SUMMARY

Digital Electronic Hardware Design, Development and system evaluation. Multi-discipline circuit design and product prototype evaluation with consideration to EMC compliance. advise PCB layout,

KEY DUTIES

Digital Electronic Hardware Design and Development

High speed digital design – Logic, Timing, Signal Integrity

Microprocessor and Microcontroller design, DSP, FPGA, CPLD, Memory.

Digital serial communications, ADC, DAC, logic and memory device interfaces.

Control surface electronics: rotary encoders, touch screen technology, USB and Ethernet peripherals.

Cost and manufacture design analysis

Circuit Schematic and advise PCB layout – space and cost critical designs essential.

Circuit/PCB prototype evaluation involving signal integrity, general electrical noise, EMC and power behaviour.

Liaison with production engineering including engineering change documentation and advising production on test strategy.

Qualifications

Degree from an accredited course in Electronic Engineering. Or suitable experience in the field.

Essential Experience
  • Minimum 2 years experience
  • Candidate should show evidence of skills in cost effective design for a very competitive market.
  • The job will require a good knowledge, understanding and experience of most of the following :
    • High speed digital design – Logic, Timing, Signal Integrity etc
    • Embedded Microprocessor and Microcontroller design
    • Digital circuit components : DSP, FPGA, CPLD, Memory etc
    • Digital serial communications, SPI, ADC, DAC, logic and memory device interfaces.
    • Knowledge of USB and Ethernet peripherals.
    • Circuit Schematic design – ideally Altium
  • Team player, Good communicator, Self-motivated, Quick learner
  • A desire to live in Cornwall
Desirable Experience
  • PCB layout – experience of multi-layer layout, ideally Altium.
  • VHDL, Programmable logic design tools, synthesis and simulation
  • Knowledge of digital audio
  • C programming language
