Embedded Software Engineer

Penryn, UK

C programming on embedded ARM based processors. Knowledge of Linux, PC and MAC platforms.

Hours of Work 37.5 Hours per Week
Salary Dependent on Experience

JOB SUMMARY

To work within the research and development team writing / testing software for exciting new digital audio mixing products.

KEY DUTIES
  • Write specifications / develop prototype code.
  • Develop software to a high standard.
  • Test, debug, and document code methodically.
  • Developing software features for new and existing products
Qualifications

Degree or HND in Electronics / Computer Science / Software Engineering or equivalent knowledge.

Essential Experience
  • C Programming on embedded systems
  • Ability to read circuit schematics.
Desirable Experience
  • Experience programming Cortex/ARM/Freescale/PIC processors
  • Digital electronic circuit design
  • Electronic skills at component level (soldering, use of oscilloscopes, etc.)
  • Understanding of serial communications/USB
  • C++ Programming
  • OO Software analysis & design
  • Understanding of audio concepts
Desirable Attributes
  • Some experience or interest in audio.
Disposition

A highly motivated individual with the ability to work as part of a team and on self-directed project work. Should be able to use own initiative and enjoy problem-solving. Will have good communication skills possessing the ability to liaise with personnel at all levels. Must be dedicated with a flexible approach to working hours.

  • Desire to live and work in Cornwall.
