DANTETM

DanteTM is a ground breaking, Ethernet compliant audio networking technology developed by Audinate to satisfy the increasing demands of the live sound industry for high performance audio, routing flexibility and affordable direct to computer recording. It uses CAT5 cable and standard networking components to distribute multiple streams of audio plus integrated control data with sub millisecond latency.

M-Dante is one of a range of digital audio networking options available for dLive, GLD and iLive to enable integration with other systems, digital mic splitting, multi-track recording and system expansion. It provides 64 channels of bi-directional audio at 48kHz, and can be fitted to any dLive I/O Port when equipped with a M-DL-ADAPT interface.

It can also be fitted to the I/O Port in a GLD mixer, Port B expansion slot in iLive fixed format MixRacks (iDR-16, iDR-32, iDR-48, iDR-64) or expander (xDR-16), Port A/B in iLive modular MixRacks (iDR0, iDR10) and Port A of iLive modular surfaces if they are fitted with the new RAB-2 standard.

Dante Virtual Soundcard is software from Audinate that lets you connect up to 64 channels of iLive audio directly to your PC or Mac via its Ethernet port, ideal for multitrack recording and playback, or working with popular processing plug-ins. One Dante Virtual Soundcard licence is provided free with M-DANTE. More can be purchased from Audinate.

Dante Domain Manager is network management software that enables user authentication, role-based security and audit capabilities for Dante networks, while allowing seamless expansion of Dante systems over any network infrastructure.

DANTE Software

Dante firmware 4.0.3.8 resolves an interoperability issue with Shure ULX-D and Axient Digital (AD) systems.

Please refer to the Release Notes regarding differences with previous firmware and information about the new features.

You can download the Dante Firmware Update Manager User Guide here

Important Note 1

Dante firmware 3.10.0 and above is compatible with all REV3 M-DANTE modules. Older REV2 modules are not compatible.
Please read these instructions to determine if your M-DANTE is REV2 or REV3.

Important Note 2

If you are upgrading your M-DANTE Module Firmware from version 3.4.15, you will need to upgrade to V3.6.4 with Dante Firmware Update Manager V1.3.2 first, then install the latest Dante Firmware Update Manager V3.10.2.4 and upgrade the module to firmware V4.0.3.8

Also note that your module will change into Redundant Mode. This can be changed back to Switched mode if you wish.

Important Note 3

The Control Network Port will not output any audio (as it did in version 3.4.15).

Important Note 4

The M-Dante card requires that in order to use the Control Network port, a cable must also be plugged in at the Primary port of the M-Dante card. If you wish to configure your Dante module without connecting it to another Dante device, you can plug your PC/Mac straight into the Primary port.
